Who’s ready to run long this year?

Whether you’re training for your first 5K or your 20th full marathon, you might have some unanswered questions or a need for a bit of community support. This is the chat for you!

We’ll be discussing race training, sponsor by New York Road Runners. Coach John Honerkamp will be our guest expert, taking your training questions. (More about Coach John below!)

If you’re considering signing up for a 2014 marathon, consider the NYRR TCS New York City Marathon, now in its 44th year, taking place on November 2nd.

Run New York. Five Boroughs. One City. And You.

The TCS New York City Marathon route touches all five boroughs of New York City: Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Manhattan. The course unites dozens of culturally and ethnically diverse neighborhoods, crosses five bridges, and finishes in world-famous Central Park. More than two million spectators line the sidelines.

mynyrrEvery Monday from now until March 10th, 6 weekly sweepstakes drawings will pull (1) winner from each of the 5 boroughs and 5 National and International runners from the Marathon Applicant database. Each winner will win a non-complimentary, guaranteed entry into the 2014 TCS New York City Marathon!

That means 10 winners each week; 60 total winners. So if you register early, you’ll have more chances to get picked!* (Registration closes on March 18th at 11:59pm EST.)

About Coach John:

John Honerkamp has coached runners of all ages and abilities for 15 years. A 1998 graduate of St. John’s University (Queens, NY), Honerkamp was an eight-time All-Big East and six-time All-East (IC4A) athlete. He earned 12 Big East All-Academic accolades and was the youngest semifinalist in the 800-meters at the 1996 U.S. Olympic Trials. He is an eight-time top-10 finisher at the U.S. Track & Field National Championships and a member of the American record-holding 4×1500-meter relay team.
